Girl power: Scarlett Moffatt is taking on the trolls

Our favourite Geordie lass is at it once again tackling trolls head on.

Scarlett Moffatt – best known for her hilarious antics on Gogglebox and now presenting on Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway – has long been an advocate for embracing your true self and ignoring the haters.

Now the star is hitting back at a barrage of negative comments she’s received with many accusing her of having had plastic surgery. Having been open in the past about getting lip fillers and veneers, Scarlett has been quick to silence trolls who have claimed she must have had work on her cheeks and nose, too.

The natural beauty responded with her usual class and straight-talking attitude to take down the media standards of beauty we’re living in. Filters everyone, people online are not as real as you think!

Posting a snap of herself at age six, Scarlett writes: “I have the same button nose, chubby cheeks & monobrow that I do now (just now highlighter and contouring exists ha) I also have the same attitude in that life is measured by how many times I laugh a day and how much love I have in my heart.”

This is me age 6. I have the same button nose, chubby cheeks & monobrow that I do now (just now highlighter and contouring exists ha) I also have the same attitude in that life is measured by how many times I laugh a day and how much love I have in my heart. because that’s all that truly matters! Ladies, women, girls… despite what most media thrusts upon you … we are more than an aesthetic shell. I like to stay positive & focus on my fellow females achievements… as woman we are more than our looks, weight, clothes, our partner!! Stay strong & let’s not let this 2018 social conformity of behaving a certain way bring us down!! In the words of little mixes jade “we can wear what we want & twerk if we want” #girlpower

Urging her fans not to conform to 2018’s ideal of beauty, we’re living for Scarlett’s continued honesty of what online vs reality really looks like. With such a young fan base, it’s refreshing to have a star that is all for #girlpower and encouraging those that look up to her to own their best life.
