Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets

2 August

The newest blockbuster to hit our screens this month is the mega-budget Valerian. With a star-studded cast including Cara Delevingne, Ethan Hawke and Rihanna and visuals set to knock your socks off, this film is set to be a winner for sci-fi fans.

A Ghost Story

11 August

Starring Rooney Mara and Casey Affleck, this supernatural drama got off to a good start on its opening weekend in the States. Described as “a wholly unique experience” on Rotten Tomatoes, this film looks to be less of a suspenseful thriller as a thoughtful account of loss.

Atomic Blonde

11 August

Charlize Theron is joined by James McAvoy in this spy thriller following an MI6 agent sent to Berlin in the midst of the Cold War to investigate a murder of a fellow agent. Girl power personified.

Annabelle: Creation

11 August

The hotly anticipated newest addition to the series, Creation is a prequel to the original Annabelle. Knowing from the offset that Annabelle is intent on terrorising orphaned children, there are no prizes for predicting that this film will chill you to your bones. Not for the faint hearted!

Rough Night

25 August

Adding a bit of light comedy relief to the list is Rough Night. A group of women on a hen party embark upon some Bridesmaids-style escapades, and find themselves trying to cover up the death of a male stripper. Hey, it happens to the best of us.
