It’s finally Friday but it’s forecast to rain this weekend. Don’t let that put you off getting out of the house to do something a bit more fun than binging a new series on Netflix.
Head out in Glasgow or Edinburgh this weekend to check out some graffiti, food, or even some magic.
#TBT to last year – Yardworks 2017! What a glorious weekend it was!
Let’s do it all again next weekend – #Yardworks2018
See you on the Yard!

Glasgow’s favourite converted warehouse, SWG3, is hosting Scotland’s only annual graffiti and street art festival this weekend, Yardworks Festival. Over 100 artists will be painting live on the day on 1000 metres of wall space. Workshops and a pop up art shop will also be up and running. Let’s hope the sun comes back because this event is held in the venue’s outdoor Galvanizer’s Yard.
Edinburgh International Magic Festival
The idea of a magic show might sound a bit childish, but this isn’t just regular card tricks or pulling a bunny out of a hat. The Edinburgh International Magic Festival takes tricks to the next level. This year’s programme includes TV talent, solo shows and even a gala.
Find out more from the festival’s website.
Snack and shop
Get a taste for Edinburgh’s best street food, provided by The Pitt, while you browse market stalls. This weekend’s Food + Flea Market will take place at Sibbald Walk on New Street on Saturday and Sunday. Head along for live music and entertainers, tickets aren’t necessary and entry is free.
Check out the first weekend of Glasgow’s Southside Fringe for everything from photography exhibitions to banquets. The festival will run for two weeks and include 200 shows in 50 of the south side’s best venues.
