Hey Britney, come over here we’ve got somethin’ to show ya!
Tomorrow night, legendary pop icon Britney Spears will take to the stage at the SSE Hydro in Glasgow. The show promises to bring a little piece of Las Vegas to Scotland, and fans are flocking from around the country to see her perform her only Scottish date on the tour.
It’s likely that Britney will want to spend some time visiting the highlights of the city before the show. Here are some suggestions – if you’re reading Britney!

The Lighthouse
To keep busy during the day, and for the best views of Glasgow, The Lighthouse is a great place to go. Not only can you learn about famous architect Charles Rennie Mackintosh, but you can climb to the top of the tower to see panoramic views of the city, stretching from the People Make Glasgow building in the east, to the Campsie hills in the west – that is, if Britney’s lucky and gets a sunny day
Shopping
Although it may not be quite what she’s used to, Glasgow does have an amazing shopping scene. ‘The Style Mile’ in town sports shops like Swarovski and Pandora in Buchanan Galleries, and more high-end brands in Princes Square, for example Jo Malone and Vivienne Westwood. And that’s not all – the west end of Glasgow is home to a number of cute vintage shops and boutiques where we’re sure Britney can get her hands on a pair of classic Levi’s or souvenirs for a fair price.
The City Centre Mural Trail
If you’ve been to Glasgow before, you’ve probably seen some of the amazing street art dotted around the city. Well, now you (and Britney, probz in disguise) can take a tour of all the fabulous pieces painted by local artists. Some of the most spectacular include ‘St. Mungo’ on High Street, ‘Tiger Style’ on Clyde Street, and of course, the tributes to our national treasure, Billy Connolly.
Hillhead Bookclub
This is definitely the best place to head before the show for some excellent food and good vibes. With meat, veggie and vegan options, there is enough choice for her entire crew to find something they enjoy. The drinks are as low as £3 and one even comes served in a gramophone; perfect for the Princess of Pop. With a ping-pong table upstairs and board games behind the bar, this is the ideal place for Britney to get rid of any pre-show nerves, if she even gets them anymore…

Get a deep-fried Mars Bar
A visit to Glasgow isn’t complete without a visit to a traditional Scottish chippy, as Justin Bieber discovered when he visited the city in October 2016. The star now has a special item named after him on the menu at the Blue Lagoon chip shop he visited after his show. Maybe Britney can head there and try ‘The Justin Bieber Haggis Special’, with a deep-fried Mars Bar and Irn Bru to wash it down. You never know, she might leave with her own meal deal named after her.
If you haven’t got a ticket yet, don’t worry, they’re still available here.
