Back in 2015 one of Glasgow’s most iconic clubs played its very last beat. The Arches was a haven for ravers and guaranteed a belter of a night thanks to world famous DJs and a bouncy castle, what more could you ask for?
Since the closure of The Arches the lot has been empty, with many an old school raver even leaving flowers at the door. Now, like a phoenix rising from the ashes, The Arches is getting a new lease of life and your belly is going to be chuffed with the makeover.
There is a new independent street food market coming to town and it’s set to launch today (unfortunately the snow has but a pin in those plans). Platform is calling the archways under Central Station home and the market will be brining ten vendors along for the ride from Saturday (3 March).

Fill your boots with Asian cuisine, locally sourced products, Instagrammable burgers or have a taste of the latest vegan sausages. There is something for everyone at Platform, which will be open every Friday and Saturday from 11am to 10pm – that’s a lot of eating time.
Tuck into Ginger & Chilli with their blend of vegan Vietnamese noodle soups, or add in some prawns and ox cheek for something meatier. Indian street food kings Babu Bombay Street Kitchen will also be in attendance alongside the seafood connoisseurs, Shrimp Wreck.

Other vendors include Chick + Pea, Mimi’s Takoyaki, Sunshine Tea Lounge and Chunk’s Ice Cream, plus many more. Tastes you know and love, new treats, to flavours from across the world the new look arches is sure to impress.
Fingers crossed there’s a nod to the old times with some techno blasting as you munch all the scran.
Platform opens today and tomorrow at 11am. Never miss a meal at Platform, find out what they’re getting up to over on Facebook.
