In love with Love Island

Over the past five weeks, a certain something has taken over our television sets and more importantly our social lives – even Liam Gallagher is a huge fan. Love Island has returned for another steamy series this summer, and I think everyone can agree that this season is hotter than ever before – even including some of the Islanders. What else would have us wishing our days away, counting down the hours to 9pm every night so we can tune in for all of the drama and entertainment?

Here are our top four reasons why we’re in love with this year’s Love Island…

1. The Drama

You can’t send 12 complete strangers to a gorgeous Spanish island to live together in a villa for seven weeks and not expect there to be some sort of drama, but it’s fair to say we can’t get enough of it! From Olivia being torn between muggy Mike and confident Chris to Johnny completely pieing off our favourite gal Camilla for Tyla. Oh, and let’s not to forget the postcard plastered with pictures of all of the boys in bed with the new girls from Casa Amor. It has certainly had its fair share of dramatic moments…

2. The Recoupling

The Recoupling has always been an intense moment on Love Island but this year it’s on a completely different level. When we hear the sound of the text message go off we know what’s about to go down! From the shock dumping of Jess and Mike from the island at the beginning of the season – leaving Dom depressed and boring – to the Islanders having the choice to decide between themselves who to send home, it can be very awkward, but we love it!

3. The Challenges

This year’s challenges have had some mixed review, with some saying they are too revolting and gross – let’s not talk about the smoothie making challenge. However it doesn’t stop us from indulging in it. The islanders take part in different challenges each day with their partner to win a prize. Basically, it’s just a chance to let the islanders make a complete fool of themselves purely for our entertainment – we give it a huge thumbs up!

4. The Islanders

From the moment we set our eyes on the islanders this year, I think we all fell in love. Do you not just want to be them – or even to be coupled up with one of them? Every single islander is toned, tanned and, to be honest, absolutely GORGEOUS! Not that we are jealous or anything…

Catch Love Island, week nights at 9pm on ITV2.
