Top Scots: Victoria Easton, Radio 1 Breakfast Show producer

radio-1-logoWhile we almost cried when our Radio 1 fave Matt Fincham announced he was leaving his role as producer on the Breakfast Show to go work with Annie Mac in the evenings, we were delighted to hear a Scottish accent cropping up in his place – welcome to new producer, Victoria Easton!

Victoria’s been working in radio for YEARS, working her way up through various broadcasters before making it to the Holy Land of radio, Radio 1, where she’s produced shows for Dan and Phil, Matt Edmondson and the Official Chart before making her way to breakfast with Nick Grimshaw.

We’ve done our homework on Victoria, and found out how she got to where she is today…

Background

Victoria was born and raised in Falkirk.

Personal Life

Victoria lives in London and is engaged to her long-term boyfriend Duncan.

Career

Victoria kicked off her career in radio as a runner for BBC Scotland in 1998, conducting pre-production admin and research. Moving to Real Radio, she did the imaging, script writing and music scheduling until 2004. Sticking with the station, she turned her hand to producing, when she became Football Phone in Producer for three years. Since 2007, Victoria has worked at Absolute Radio, BBC News, Radio Clyde and now at BBC Radio 1. Starting out as a freelancer, she’s now in charge of Grimmy’s show, responsible for the general running of the programme and booking amazing guests.
