Glasgow is known for its rowdy crowds, great people and even better music scene. Last Friday (3 May), Aberdeen natives The Xcerts brought Glasgow to life at SWG3. Drenching the venue in lights of their signature colour red, Murray, Jordan, and Tom sent us in to a daydream.

While Murray’s hair still isn’t the flowing golden mane we miss from 2017 and Jordan’s usual funky shirt were missing, the show still managed to drive us wild.

THE FEELS

The intimate venue was the perfect setting for the gig as the band served up songs new and old, with plenty of slow hits to get us in our feelings.

It wouldn’t be an Xcerts gig if someone didn’t cry along to Aberdeen 1987 (spoiler: it was us), but fans were treated to plenty of tracks from their latest album Hold On to Your Heart.

The boys had an important announcement to make during the show. Joking that they probably shouldn’t be telling people yet, they revealed their plans for a 10 year anniversary tour later this year.

ANNIVERSARY

In 2009 the band released their debut album, In the Cold Wind We Smile. In 2019 you’ll likely still get to hear plenty of the tracks at an average gig, but we’re already getting excited to celebrate a decade of The Xcerts at more shows later this year.

Ending the show with the crowd screaming the hook from Feels Like Falling in Love to the band, this won’t be a gig we’re forgetting any time soon.
