There’s quite a few days we get excited about annually. Christmas, Easter, any bank holiday… But there’s one day on the calendar which we cannot help but let out a little squee when it crops up on the calendar… National Puppy Day.
Today, 23 March, is the day to celebrate everything that’s brilliant about the smallest, cutest, cuddliest critters on the planet – baby dogs. You have a genuine reason to be googling dog gifs!
To celebrate, we’ve rounded up some of our favourite internet pups for your viewing pleasure. You can thank us later.
1. Boo, Buddy and Blue
Boo the Pomeranian with the cute haircut is famous as the World’s Cutest Dog – he lives in San Francisco with his ‘brothers’ Buddy and Blue the golden retriever. The trio have over 600k followers on Insta, and Boo’s got a staggering 17 million Facebook followers. He’s got books, soft toys and plenty more merchandise on the go too. These dogs are all very blonde and very beautiful, and quite keen on dressing up. (Who isn’t?)
2. Bruno the mini dacschund

Bruno’s a sausage dog who lives in England and has over 70k Instagram followers. He’s into bow ties, digging, causing chaos and generally being really cute. He made a big splash at this year’s Crufts, where doggy fanatics could go along and her a selfie with the famous pup for charity.
3. Corgnelius
Corgnelius is a California-based wonder pup who lives with his brother Stumphrey. As well as being adorable, these two corgis are great to follow on social media. Fancy dress features heavily – and we like it.
4. Tonkey

He looks like a teddy bear!! But he’s not! He’s a dog! Tonkey is a fluffy Shar Pei pup and we can’t get over just how soft he looks.
5. Marnie
Marnie is a 13-year-old Shih Tzu who was adopted by her owners at the age of 10 after a tough life marred with bad health and no forever home. Aww. She’s blind in one eye and her tongue is too big for her mouth – which explains why it’s always sticking out – but the internet has really embraced this fantastic dog and all her quirks.
6. Doug the pug
“U ain’t nothin’ but a pug dog, hungry all the time” -Doug

Doug the Pug hobnobs with celebrities, recreates movies and has 1.5m fans on Instagram. He’s pretty great.
7. Menswear Dog
If you like your dogs with a side of lol, check out Menswear Dog. This Shiba Inu is the most stylish dog on the internet, recreating fashion shoots and looking pretty fly with it. He’s got a book out and everything.
