The BBC Young Reporter Competition enables young people from across the UK to get involved in journalism and tell the stories that are important to them, their community and their generation.

With chances to work with established BBC journalists across TV, radio, online, social media, it’s an opportunity not to be missed.

Whether you have a story that’s personal to you, a breaking news story that’s relevant to your local community, an investigative piece to uncover brand new, exciting information, or something to enlighten adults about what it’s really like to be a Gen Z, the BBC wants to hear from you.

CATEGORIES

There are two categories – My Life and Our World. Entries to the My Life category must be a personal story about you or someone you know (you must have their permission to tell someone else’s story). Our World entires must cover a wider basis, on an issue that is affecting the world today, looking at it from a young person’s perspective. There are two sub categories for age groups (11–15 and 16–18).

All shortlisted stories will be fact checked, so make sure to do your research before submitting.

ENTER

To enter, you must send away this form to the BBC before Saturday 26 October.

The most interesting and unique stories will go before a panel of judges, who will select the finalists. There will be regional and national winners, so there are plenty of opportunities to make sure your story is heard.

So, if you have an idea and want to share it, now is your chance. Get your entries in ASAP, for an opportunity to launch your exciting journalism career and get some experience with the BBC.
