The sad news has emerged today that Louis Tomlinson’s mum, Johannah Deakin, died at the age of 42 on Wednesday morning.

In a statement released today, her husband Dan confirmed that Johannah passes away on Wednesday morning after what appears to have been a relatively short illness.

The statement read:

“It is with immeasurable sadness that Johannah Deakin’s family said goodbye to Johannah in the early hours of Wednesday 7th December 2016.

“Earlier this year Johannah was diagnosed with a very aggressive form of leukaemia that required immediate and continuous treatment.”

Johannah’s illness was unknown to the public until now, and One Direction fans worldwide are sharing their shock over the news on social media. Thousands of tweets of support have already been sent to Louis, who became a dad himself for the first time earlier this year. Former bandmate Zayn, who hasn’t tweeted Louis in over two years, ones one of the first to reach out to show his support. Liam Payne’s girlfriend, Cheryl, was also quick to tweet out her support.
