The University of St Andrews has been named Scotland’s top university by the Complete University Guide.
The uni ranked number five in the UK overall, making it the only Scots university in the top 10.
This year’s survey saw Edinburgh hop up a place in the overall table, with UWS and Stirling rising by eight places each. The most impressive Scots climber was the University of Abertay, which went from 95th overall to 86th.
UK-wide, Cambridge came out on top with Oxford in second place.
The CUG league table ranks institutions based on entry standards, student satisfaction, research quality and student prospects.
