Throwback Thursday: Punk Icons

Spiky hair, studded belts, Dr Martens and ripped skinny jeans – punk is a genre that has evolved over the years.

The Sex Pistols and Rancid, to name a few, took punk by the horns and propelled the genre into homes across the world. Designers Vivienne Westwood and Zandra Rhodes embraced the sound and created a style, that oozes edgy coolness, to go along with the culture.

As American punks Green Day – alongside Rancid and The Skids – prepare to celebrate Independence Day at Glasgow’s Bellahouston Park next Tuesday (4 July), we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to check out the best punk icons ever. Grab your guitar 🎸🙌
